1961年出生于黑龙江省齐齐哈尔市；1986年毕业于鲁迅美术学院油画系获学士学位；1997年鲁迅美术学院任副教授；现任鲁迅美术学院博物馆馆长，中国艺术研究院艺术创作研究中心特聘研究员；
