1935年出生，祖籍江苏无锡。自幼随留日画家的外祖母习画。1951年参军开始绘画生涯。历任美术创作员、教员、美术编辑、编辑室主任、总编辑助理、中国美术出版总社副编审。中央美术学院王嘉廉油画奖学金评审委员会委员。中国美术家协会会员。
　　多次参加全国美展、纪念性美展、北京市美展及画家联展，为国内外重要收藏家所关注。被《收藏参考报》列入“20世纪中国书画家作品值得收藏的200家”之一。 Born in 1935 in Wuxi in jiangsu Province, Pang Bangben learned painting from his grandmother, who had studied in Japan, In 1951, Pang joined the army and began his career as a painter. Later he served as art worker, teacher, fine arts editor, director of the editorial office, assistant to the editor-in-chief and senior art editor of the China Fine Arts Publishing House. 　　Pang, a member of Wang Jialian Oil Painting Scholarship Appraisal Committee of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and member of the Chinese Artists’ Association was cited by “Collection Reference News” as one of “200 Chinese Artists Whose Paintings Are Worth Collecting in the 20th Century”. His works have been displayed in national fine arts exhibitions, commemorative fine arts exhibitions, as well as Beijing municipal fine arts and joint exhibitions, attracting great attention from domestic and foreign collectors.
